The arrangement of this original song came to life amongst the staff and campers of Karla Mundy’s SongRoots singing camp in BC, Canada. If you know me, you know I entered the group singing world through Appalachian traditions and percussive dance. I am always moving my music, and find that choirs enjoy compositions that incorporate movement or percussive elements. In addition to the proscribed motions that accompany the choruses, the video tutorial demonstrates some simple Body Music options that you can add to the verses, depending on the skill of your group, and the arrangement you’d like to see/hear. The parts can be added/developed throughout the three verses, performed all at once on every verse, segmented among the vocal parts, or done in the same body! Feel free to assemble them however works for your group. Please share a video with your arrangement!
