Sheet Music for Mixed Choir + Simplified Body Percussion for Choir Performance
Music Public Domain / Arrangement for Choir with Body Percussion by Evie Ladin
This Appalachian song came from both black and white communities in the American South. Here it is overlayed on Afro-Cuban Son rhythms expressed in body percussion: clave, cascara, and a ‘filler’ part; overtly exploring the African diaspora influence throughout Appalachian culture. This is one of the missions of composer/choreographer Evie Ladin’s MoToR/dance ensemble. Here, Evie simplifies the parts for choir, with options for presentation depending on skill.
Download includes 1 digital (PDF) copy of each:
The Arrangement contains a link to an unlisted teaching video, to help you understand the body percussion parts.
PLEASE REMEMBER: You must purchase 1 octavo for each singer/performer who will sing/perform this composition/arrangement. It’s the law, and the right thing to do.
